Join Associate Professor Lisa Marriott from Victoria Business School and Research Professor Mike Berridge from the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research to discuss whether a sugar tax is the best way to achieve health outcomes.

They’ll look at whether such a tax would have an effect on obesity, Type 2 diabetes and the growing suite of diseases that are affected by sugar intake; explore research examining the impact of taxes on consumption choices; and discuss the arguments for and against government involvement in individuals’ personal lifestyle choices.

The series is free, but registration for each lecture is essential.

Register: Email rsvp@vuw.ac.nz with ‘sugar’ in the subject line or phone 04-463 7458.
