New to cycling? Come along on this free 'Short Ride For New Cyclists' to gain confidence to ride more for transport.

This ride is around parks and along public roads. And we will stop along the way to share tips on how to have a safer and more enjoyable ride.

(Marathon road blocks will be lifted by 2pm).

Number of participants is limited to around 10 new cyclists, so to secure a free spot text 021 0277 9250 or email GoCycleChristchurch@gmail.com with name of participant(s), date of ride and whether you have NO or SOME experience riding on roads.

More experienced cyclists are welcome to join without 'booking' a spot, but this ride is slow to accommodate new cyclists.

This is a free ride for new adult cyclists. You will need your own bike and helmet (or rent a Nextbike from one of their 5 CBD stands - http://www.nextbike.co.nz/en/christchurch/locations/).

You will be responsible for your own safety, so you need to be able to ride your bike and know about the general road code.

If the weather is decidedly nasty on the day this ride will be cancelled. Hope to see you and your new cyclist friends or colleagues for a slow and enjoyable ride.

Let's Go Cycle Christchurch!

Please see Go Cycle Christchurch for more info about our free volunteer driven project helping more adults use cycling for transport.
