Avoiding the conversation? This workshop will provide you with information to strengthen your confidence in speaking about sexual violence with whānau / families within their homes and communities.

The workshop is for practitioners (especially those newer to the job or wanting a refresher), who are working in the frontline with whānau experiencing the impacts of sexual abuse. We invite you to come along to a free, interactive professional development workshop with Joy Te Wiata and Russell Smith of Korowai Tumanako. Explore new skills and tools for your kete to work more effectively with whānau. What whānau want to know. What whānau need to know. What you need to know. Warning signs and safety strategies. Recognising the opportunity for the conversation, and practising it in groups. Ethics, processes and professional behaviour in the community.
