This play by Ronald Harwood is about aging opera singers who now live together in a retirement home for musicians. It is a play about redefining old age and growing old with hope; demonstrating how art illuminates life, and the human spirit remains undimmed even as the brightest stars start to fade.

The wickedly comic film of the same name starring Maggie Smith, Tom Courtney, Pauline Collins, Michael Gambon and Billy Connolly was based on this play.
