Anzac Day 2016 Ongaonga Commemorative March & Civic Service

The Ongaonga Community and the Waipawa and Districts Returned Services Association would like to invite members of the public to attend the Anzac Day commemorative march and civic service which will be held at the Cenotaph, Bridge Street, Ongaonga commencing at 9:00 a.m. on Monday 25 April 2016.

The Service will be preceded by the march lead by Piper Raewyn King and veterans, who will assemble & depart from the Ongaonga Hall at 8:45 a.m. and proceed along Bridge Street to the Cenotaph at 8:50 a.m.

Medals - Participants are requested to wear their medals and remove headgear at the appropriate time during the ceremony. Children may wish to consider wearing their whanau’s service medals.

Wreaths - Organisations, groups and people are encouraged to lay a wreath or poppy on the Cenotaph during the service.

Morning Tea - Everyone is invited to join together for morning tea at the Ongaonga Hall, after the Anzac Day Commemorative Service. Please bring a plate to share for Morning Tea.

Wet Weather – In the event of wet weather, it is proposed to hold the service in the Ongaonga Hall at 10:00 a.m. on Monday 25 April 2016.
