NZIFF

The New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) returns this year to bring you an exciting array of over 140 feature films and documentaries to enjoy. The latest and brightest of international cinema direct from premier festivals in North America, Australia and Europe as well as world premieres of many New Zealand films.

Early announcements for the 2016 programme include Heart of a Dog, Laurie Anderson’s enchanting cinematic essay on love and death, Ben Wheatley’s highly anticipated High-Rise, starring Tom Hiddleston, the dazzling, genre-defying sci-fi/chase movie Midnight Special, the supremely strange-but-true biography of a 1920’s entrepreneur in Nuts!, and Tanna the beautiful star-crossed lovers story set in Vanuatu from Australian filmmakers Bentley Dean and Martin Butler.

NZIFF encourages lively interactions between films, filmmakers and New Zealand audiences in 13 towns and cities around the country. NZIFF’s cinematic winter extravaganza is run by a charitable trust, NZ Film Festival Trust, and is held annually.

NZIFF will begin its 48th year in Auckland on the 14th July at the magnificent Civic Theatre and various other venues across the city. Keep up to date with festival news and events at NZIFF.co.nz.
