Jonathan 'Vision' Waters is a Street Artist and Visual Art Teacher at King's High School, Dunedin. He is quickly becoming noticed around the city with commissioned murals and street works to be seen.

'Neo-Nostalgia' is a new body of Paintings that explores the idea of how we perceive known and unknown imagery. He has created new manipulated forms within the well-loved, nostalgic silhouettes of '90s cartoon characters.

Are our perceptions of these new forms informed by the characters which they are framed within? How would you perceive these works if you didn't even know the characters used for silhouettes? Does our perception of the original characters image begin to distort and change by experiencing these new forms?

The opening will be from 6 pm at Kiki Beware, Friday the 23rd of September. See you there!
