How does Mexico figure in our imagination? And how does art allow us access to other realities and make connections across cultures?

Celina Bortolotto presents the work of the extraordinary Mexican performance artist Astrid Hadad, and Richard Reddaway the exhibition El Barroco de Aotearoa, followed by a discussion with artists Catherine Bagnall and Reweti Arapere, both of whom travelled to Mexico for El Barroco de Aotearoa in Mexico City. We explore the fabulous: the potential of myth and magic to take us to other places, and then what we find when we get there.

Part of the cultural programme of events to Support "Frida Kahlo - Her Photos" exhibition at Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and History. Event held in collaboration with Massey University and Palmerston North City Library.
