Pita Alexander will join us on Thursday May 19th at the Methven Resort Hotel, Main St, Methven. Starting at 6.45pm, your $10 ticket includes nibbles and a complimentary drink.

Pita Alexander has experienced some eight up and down agricultural cycles over the last 40 years and it will be interesting to hear what he has to say about what he has learnt from those cycles. In particular, what he has found the good agricultural operators in all agricultural sectors have put in place to cope with the volatility of these cycles.

Pita has helped a large number of farming couples who have started with very little, very often in the dairy sector, and has helped them build their net assets over the years. Some of the issues he has struck over this period in this building process will also be of interest.

Come and hear Pita share his thoughts and then join in with the question and answer session afterwards.

Pita's career has included working on New Zealand farms, several years at both the Rural Bank and PGG and 39 years with his own farm accounting practice which is one of the largest specialised practices in NZ. He has been in partnership with his son since 1996.

Addressing over 100 seminars and conferences in Australia and some 550 farming conferences, seminars, field days and farm discussion groups in NZ over the last 39 years keeps him constantly on a learning curve. He very much respects the family farm and the 'he and she' managers and 'he and she' owners.

Pita gets enormous job satisfaction and wants to inject back into agriculture. This is shown by awards such as the Bledisloe Medal from Lincoln University for outstanding old student's contribution to NZ agriculture; Commonwealth Medal for services to Agriculture and ONZM for services to Agriculture.
