A Magical Journey of Animation and Imagination.

Horrakapotchkin! It’s Margaret Mahy!

Imagine a world where your favourite story characters come to life before your eyes as your favourite author reads aloud to you. Join the magic as the stories of beloved NZ author Margaret Mahy (1936-2012) come to life on screen.

Sitting with her grandchildren, Biddy and Julia, Margaret reads some of her most famous works – and you’re invited to be a very special part of the audience.

Titles include enchanting Margaret Mahy classics: "The Lion in the Meadow," "The Great White Man Eating Shark," "The Witch in the Cherry Tree," and many of her poems. Cautionary tales, upside down/inside out rhymes and fandandical ballads galore!

Come sit back and let the words of one of the world's greatest children’s writers and word-smiths engage and enthral you these school holidays.

"Well, in my head I hear my work a certain way and it would be gratifying to have my own interpretations recorded for others.” – Margaret Mahy

With great thanks to director and producer Yvonne McKay at Production Shed TV.
