Hi everyone, this gig is for a cause very close to my heart ... raising my own profile.

but it's more than that, my good friend and podcast buddy Jarrod Baker has had to face some pretty challenging times lately. Jarrod and his wife Caroline found out that their new baby, Elliot had been diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma, which her parents have dubbed "Eugene". The first stage of her treatment entails weekly chemotherapy for a year. There are trips to Christchurch, specialists in Wellington and more stress and worry than any family should have to deal with. It's not cheap either, and altogether Jarrod, Caroline, Lydia Elliot's older sister, and Elliot herself are going to need our support

Jarrod and I are both comedians, and putting on a gig and ensuring all the money raised goes toward supporting the family is an accessible way that the comedy community at large can support the family in their time of need. Loads of people got in touch with me and wanted to help, loads of people are already doing things to help and that's so great. Cavern Club were so keen to team up with me to make this happen and have been fantastic from the get go with ideas and behind the scenes support.

This gig is at its most basic level, helping out a friend when they need it most. It's a gig that I have handpicked some of my favourite Wellington based comedians... that were available on the night. HA! NEVER GETS OLD.

Jerome Chandrahasen
Patch Lambert
Lucy Roche
Jonny Potts
Eamonn Mara
Savannah Calton
All held together by me, Adam Wright as host

They're the vey best this city has to offer, and they're generously donating their time and talent to help make this a success, so you have my word that not only this night be very funny, it's all for a very worthy cause.
