Licence to Ice is a 6 part cake, cupcake & cookie decorating series that takes covers all aspects of cake decorating over 6 consecutive weekly sessions.

Some classes will be demonstrations with dessert, and some will be hands on where you decorate and take home what you create.

The 6 sessions include:
Session 1. Cake Basics - Prepping your tins, baking, filling and buttercreaming your cake
Session 2. Cupcake Decorating - Piping with different nozzles, making decorations etc.
Session 3. Ombre Rose Cake with figurine
Session 4. Cookie Decorating - Fondant covered and royal icing with flooding
Session 5. Ganaching a cake and using cake lace
Session 6. Fondant Covered Cake

The price of $120 covers all 6 sessions and is a great price to learn a lot of techniques that would take years to master on your own! The instructors are from the team at Cupcake Sweeties - hugely experienced cake decorators who will be able to really assist with increasing your cake decorating skills.

There is a maximum of 10 in the class - so you will have a really hands on experience. This is the introductory price for our first series only.... so get in quick! The perfect Christmas gift for a person who loves to decorate cakes!

Session 1. Cake Basics - Prepping your tins, baking, filling and buttercreaming your cake
Skills learnt:
• Lining Tins
• Baking & Recipe discussion
• Filling and crumb coating with buttercream
• Making & using cake lace
• Covering a cake board
• Using wafer & edible images
• Using tappits
• Pricing & storing cakes discussion
• Using bead, rope & diamante borders on cakes
Session type: demonstration & dessert

Session 2. Cupcake Decorating - Piping with different nozzles, making decorations etc.
Skills learnt:
• Piping with different nozzles
• Making decorations using moulds & cutters
• Working with wafer images and edible images
• Making flowers
• 2 tone icing
• Gumpaste decorations of all sorts
• Flavoring with oils
Session type: demonstration and hands on making decoration and decorating 2 cupcakes to take home

Session 3. Ombre Rose Cake with figurine
Skills learnt:
• Crumb Coating a cake
• Making & colouring buttercream with gels
• Piping cake using the rose nozzle for ombre rose cake
• Modelling a figurine
Session type: demonstration with cake for dessert

Session 4. Cookie Decorating
Skills learnt:
• Making Royal Icing
• Flooding
• Decorating cookies with fondant
• Lustreing and finishing touches

Session type: hands on & cookies to take home

Session 5. Ganaching a cake and using cake lace
Skills learnt:
• Making ganache
• Covering a cake with ganache
• Stacking a cake – using dowels and cake discs
• Making & using cake lace

Session type: demonstration with dessert

Session 6. Fondant Covered Cake
Skills learnt:
• Colouring fondant
• Covering a cake with fondant
• Making stripes
• Making a bow
• Using Tappits & cutters
• Demo on embossing with quilting tool?
• Using bead, rope & diamante borders on cakes
