Hard bop, boogaloo and the blues permeate the Uprights Quintet sound creating a loose, organic feel, heavily inspired by the swinging music of artists such as Cannonball Adderley, Bobby Timmons, Ramsey Lewis and Donald Byrd.

The band plays original compositions by leader and drummer, Mike Jensen, and features the fine talents of Dayle Jellyman, (piano and fender rhodes), Dan Yeabsley, (alto, tenor sax and clarinet), Nick Tipping, (upright bass) and Hamish Jellyman on (trombone) and new additions Andy Christiansen (The Black Seeds) on trumpet, recently returned home - bass ace, Phil Boniface on upright bass and Mike Jensen on drums and compositions (Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band).

We're really looking forward to finally being able to play these songs and as always it would be great to see a few familiar faces there!
