Join award-winning photographers Richard Young and Trevor Penfold on a weekend landscape photography workshop in Tongariro National Park.

5th-7th April 2016

Join us for a weekend landscape photography workshop in the awe-inspiring location of Tongariro National Park to improve your landscape photography. Over this two day workshop (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon/evening) you will learn to shoot a diverse range of subject matter including classic landscape photography, waterfalls, rivers, forests and macro photography. During the weekend you will have the chance to shoot from sunrise to sunset, in a variety of locations within the national park.

Topics Covered:
- Wilderness landscapes
- Mountain landscapes
- Forest photography
- Waterfalls and rivers
- Macro
- Sunrises and sunsets
- The importance of planning for your shoot, including using computer based tools and mobile applications
- Advanced use of shutter speed, aperture, ISO and white balance
- Awareness of composition, lighting and capturing the moment
- The benefits of filters such as neutral density, graduated neutral density and polarisers
- Receive personal tips and learn special techniques for capturing water, dramatic landscapes, mountains, sunsets and macro photography.

Workshop includes:
- 2 nights accommodation at the Skotel Alpine Resort in a basic shared twin room with another person from the workshop. If you wish, there is the option to upgrade to a private hotel room or cabin at extra cost
- 2 full breakfasts at the Terrace Restaurant at Skotel Alpine Resort
- 2 packed lunches made by the Terrace Restaurant at Skotel Alpine Resort
- Full tuition for the weekend by Richard Young and (depending on numbers) Trevor Penfold
- Printed notes to take home covering some special techniques, settings and tips
- Department of Conservation concession fees
