Official Website

Kite making for adults - making Orizome Kaku Dako kites - a Tokyo style, fold & dye kite (traditional Japanese washi paper; dye)

Facilitator - Mikio Toki (Japan) - by invitation Mikio travels extensively around the world to share his knowledge of traditional Japanese culture and kite making; we are very honoured to have him join us at the Otaki Kite Festival 2016. He is believed to be the last active tradtional Japanese kite maker in the world.

Join Mikio and create your own unique work of art and along the way learn a little bit about some Japanese kite history.

Then join us at the Otaki Kite Festival at Otaki Beach on 5th & 6th March (time to be confirmed) to show off your creation in the kite flying arena with your facilitator.
