Djembe Jammers

We all have rhythm within us, in fact life only rhythm.

Explore your rhythm within, while drumming and dancing to rhythms from West African. Have a go on the many different instruments available; djembe, dundun, bell shakers, conga, snare drum.

Experience the sounds of the M'bira and Kamele N'goni played by Dave Edwards, your tutor for drumming and dance.

Next on the calendar for this term:
Be prepared for a whole day workshop being planned for this tern, where there will be lots of fun Drumming and Dancing all day - that's a workout worth the experiencing.

Bring any drum of any kind - Djembe, dundun, conga, bongo, cajon, even old kit drum pieces, maybe an upturned dustbin or bucket and some drum sticks will help. Some hire djembe, cajon’s will be available - or call Dave he can repair drums too, if you have drums of any kind, Dave can assess whether repairs can be achieved - get in touch.

There will be some time for learning the dance that goes with each rhythm taught for session. All workshops and classes conclude with a performance for the community, raising funds for worthy causes.

Drumming and Dancing is with very therapeutic and a great way to feel fit.

Music is from African rhythms, bell patterns, singing, dundun patterns. Dave plays; Djembe, Dundun, Bell and shakers, Mbira, Ngoni and dances. Trained to teach African drumming by Simon Fraser of African Drumming Australia. Dave has played for a Music video, Afrifest, Toka fest, and various functions and Workshops.
