Joana Saahirah, one of the most respected dancers in the Middle Eastern Dance world, is coming to New Zealand to teach dancers from around the country. Saahirah has spent almost ten years living in Cairo, performing with her personal orchestra. She has become a highly sought after artist, being invited to teach and perform at major international dance festivals.

Phoenix Belly Dance is proud to host Joana for a series of workshops, a lecture, and a one-night only show, Middle Eastern Memories.

Joana Saahirah is sharing her knowledge of Egyptian Dance in a one hour lecture. She'll be exploring the following topics:

- What makes Egyptian Dance a Magical Art?
- How does a foreign dancer succeed in Cairo, the most competitive, corrupt and sought after Oriental Dance market in the world?
- Egyptian Dance past & future. From Egypt to the World - roots with a global vision.

This lecture is open to the public, and you do not need to have a background in Middle Eastern dance to understand it (though it is beneficial).

Joana will also have copies of her book, 'The Secrets of Egypt - Dance, Life and Beyond, Second Edition', available for purchase if not already sold out prior. Books will cost approx NZD $35-40.
