Proudly presented by the Embassy of Japan in New Zealand and the Japan Foundation, the Japan Film Festival is coming to Wellington this year again! Due to the popularity of previous festivals, this will be held at the Paramount Theatre to ensure there is space for everyone to see as many movies as they like, so spread the word.

Please print your free tickets from Eventfinda and bring them along for priority entry to the theatre (from 3pm) and access to your choice of seat. All movies in the Festival are preceded by a short documentary about Japanese culture. This will start at 3:15pm before the feature film screening at 3:30pm.

The Japan Film Festival 2016 offers entertainment with a mixture of drama, action, and comedy that will inspire and engage those seeking to broaden their cultural horizons. All movies are free admission so spread the word and bring along your friends and family! Please register and print your free tickets by using the link in this event.

A touching film based on a true story about the hardships endured by a farmer who attempts to cultivate apples organically. In Hirosaki (Aomori Prefecture), farmer Akinori Kimura vows to do the impossible and grow apples organically out of concern for his wife Mieko, who has grown ill due to agricultural chemicals. Despite the objections of others and his family's descent into abject poverty, Akinori devotes himself to cultivating the fruit.
