Proudly presented by the Embassy of Japan in New Zealand and the Japan Foundation, the Japan Film Festival is coming to Wellington this year again! Due to the popularity of previous festivals, this will be held at the Paramount Theatre to ensure there is space for everyone to see as many movies as they like, so spread the word.

Please print your free tickets from Eventfinda and bring them along for priority entry to the theatre (from 12:30pm) and access to your choice of seat. All movies in the Festival are preceded by a short documentary about Japanese culture. This will start at 12:55pm before the feature film screening at 1:15pm.

The Japan Film Festival 2016 offers entertainment with a mixture of drama, action, and comedy that will inspire and engage those seeking to broaden their cultural horizons. All movies are free admission so spread the word and bring along your friends and family! Please register and print your free tickets by using the link in this event.

Based on Hirosuke Hamada's nursery tale "The Red Devil Who Cried", used even in school textbooks, the film cutely portrays the interaction between monsters and human children. The human child Kotake wanders into the monsters island where red devil Naki and blue devil Gunjo reside. At first, Naki and Kotake do nothing but argue, however before long they become friends.
