Te Uru

Join us for an afternoon of live and recorded South Asian music to celebrate the conclusion of the exhibition Frankie Goes to Bollywood by McCahon House artist-in-residence Bepen Bhana.

Influences range from traditional classical to improvised East-West fusions and electronica. Performers include Luke Hurley, Balamohan Shingade and the Sargam School of Music from nearby Blockhouse Bay. To mark the occassion, Te Uru will open late especially to catch the day's last light during a special sunset raga.

Frankie Goes to Bollywood publications are now available from Te Uru.

- Midday - recordings
- East - West fusions and electronica
- 3pm - Sargam School showcase Sitar Recital and Tabla Jugalbandi
- 4:30pm - Basant Madhur and Luke Hurley - a tabla and guitar fusion with Indian, African, Celtic and blues influences
- 5:20pm - Balamohan Shingade and Basant Madhur Traditional music
