What’s the future of the union movement in New Zealand? We discuss it here.

Join past, present and future leaders of the union movement in New Zealand as they discuss how the union movement has shaped the lives of workers in New Zealand and look toward the future of the union movement in Aotearoa.

Industrial relations in New Zealand can be dated from the beginning of European settlement in the first half of the 19th century with the first union, the Union Benefit Sick Society, formed by carpenters in Wellington in 1840.
