Grafia has finally completed recording it's debut album, after 15 months of creative slog. It is aptly titled "Ultimately Free" and features 8 songs with a total play time of 40.5 min. The band will perform it's first Album Release Show at Iberia on Friday May 13 with support of Stefan Brown playing lead guitar and Andrew Miller on alto sax. There will be no door charge and the album will be on sale for $15. It can also be downloaded from CD Baby and other sites.

Grafia, an acronym for "get right away from it all", is a band of musicians working with artists, photographers, video/film makers and songwriters who enjoy collaborating to perform, compose and record. We are based in the Wairarapa and put on/ contribute to shows wherever we are asked to. So far this has been in the lower North Island and Auckland. King Street Live in Masterton now "deceased", The Tin Hut in south Wairarapa, now also deceased, The Cabana in Napier, alive and well thanks to The Gov'nor Roy Brown, and more recently, The Gladstone Inn, 8 km outside of Masterton, are some of our favourite places to play. We are available for concerts, cafe/bar gigs, private parties and other special events, playing a set of originals (now on CD), or covers in the genres of folk, Irish, blues, country rock or gypsy jazz.
