Fragile Exhibition ArtPost Galleries – Waikato Museum – Chartwell Gallery 13th February – 14th March 2016

"Fragile.

Is to be easily broken or damaged.

This body of work explores concepts around our emotional connection to our land, stories that connect us, the loss of our fauna & flora, such as the extinct fragile Huia.

Piece by piece is how we let go of broken promises and recreate our own landscapes.

Under my skin I now keep these fragile things."

- Tammie Rose Riddle

Fragile one

Artpost Galleries & Shop is the next stop on the road for the Fragile exhibition after opening to rave reviews at Taupō Museum in January of 2015. The art of landscape painting is given a fresh viewpoint with the use of cubism in the latest exhibition of acrylic paintings and pencil drawings from Manawatu artist Tammie Rose Riddle opening on Saturday 13th February.

Riddle is a self-taught artist influenced by early modernist traditions of painting and artists such as George Braque, Pablo Picasso and Jean Metzinger. The use of Cubism gives depth to artwork by using multiple or contrasting view points. Riddle has developed her own system with meticulous attention to detail.

“I throw my whole soul into every piece that I create. The experience and story are the most important things that I want the viewer to feel when they see a piece of my work” says Riddle

Riddle has exhibited her work widely and has pieces in several public and private collections as well as having been successful in several New Zealand art awards.

The exhibition and sale of work is open until 14th March.
