For the last time ever, Southland's award-winning, critically acclaimed acoustic duo Into The East will perform music from a body of work that has been twelve years in the making.

Celebrating nominations for Best New Zealand Folk Album, The Taite Music Prize for innovation in recorded music and multiple wins at the Southland Entertainment Awards as well as being crowned New Zealand's top Country Group at the New Zealand Country Music Awards, Into The East, will wrap up their second consecutive year with Arts On Tour NZ at home in Invercargill before parting ways.

Having shared stages with Aotearoa's finest, including The Topp Twins, Neil Finn, and Tami Neilson as well as impressing the nation's harshest music critics, the pair promise not to disappoint in any way, bar disbanding at the end of the night.

"I don't believe Into The East are simply a "love them" or "hate them" band – you either love their music, or you have no taste." - Jack Andrews, MusicNation NZ.

“It would be a hard heart that wasn’t moved.” - Graham Reid, Elsewhere

“It’s a quiet-achiever, a wee gem, the underdog emerging as a winner. Well done to Into The East. They’ve cracked the code – good music is good music.” - Simon Sweetman, Dominion Post/Off The Tracks.

"He's as sweet as she can be ballsy in an emotionally cohesive batch of songs that serve as internalised meditations on the ups and downs of life and love." - Mike Alexander, Sunday Star Times.

"A duo that blend the musical boldness of Johnny Cash & June Carter with the lyrical prowess of The Carpenters, 'Into The East' are a talented pair of New Zealanders who perhaps define 'The Southland Sound', a well-blended mix of folk and country that is delivered with great artistic merit." - iTunes.

“Liv and Graeme will draw you in with their harmonic charm, spit you out with their cheeky southern wit and pull you closer with their award winning music”, “A truly world class acoustic duo, Graeme Woller and Liv McBride melt effortlessly between genres, talk a big game and will flip you from a belly laugh to a wrenched heart throughout an acclaimed show you simply cannot miss this year.” - Arts On Tour NZ Trust.
