Sustainable Living Programme is back with a series of 8 new workshops, after a successful series on compost making. In this workshop you will learn:
- an intro to microbes and "the microbiome"
- what are fermented foods
- the different types of fermented foods with examples to look at and smell e.g. Scoby, lactic acid fermentation, starter cultures...
- how to take care of Kombucha, I'll have some there and show people the process of harvesting the drink
- also mention things like: Apple Cider Vinegar, Ginger Beer, Water and Milk Kefir, Sauerkraut, Tempeh, Salami, Miso, Kim Chi.....

The Sustainable Living Programme helps bring changes because it is not presented as lectures. It is fun, friendly discussion and easy to use information available in print and by email. It suggests how small lifestyle changes in many households will add up to a big difference to the New Zealand environment.

All sessions are pre-paid tickets only, venue's are in New Plymouth, and confirmed after ticket purchase.
