‘Eyetrackers’ - Between Art and Neuroscience is a highly innovative exhibition that explores the fascinating borderland between visual art and visual neuroscience. Artworks and state-of-the art, eye-tracking technology are brought together in a fascinating exploration of the question that has intrigued scientists and artists alike: How do we see the world? Video presentations recreate the shifting gaze patterns of individual viewers, as they look at works of art. Installations enable visitors to interact directly with eye tracker technology, monitoring patterns of looking behaviour and changes in pupil size, as they engage with the different images included in the exhibition.

Curated by Tony Lambert (School of Psychology, University of Auckland) and Greg Minissale (Department of Art History, University of Auckland)
Supported by the University of Auckland’s Centre for Brain Research, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Arts.
