The House Series

“A great evening at the theatre” according to Raymond Hawthorne, Everest Untold is part climbing experience, part history lesson, and part personal revelation.

It features the 1953 Everest expedition leader, Sir John Hunt and the expedition’s “other Kiwi” George Lowe. It was George, a native of the Hawkes Bay, who first suggested to Ed Hillary that they have a crack at the Himalayas.

George and Ed climbed together in the early stages of the Everest assault but then Ed teamed up with Tenzing Norgay and the rest is history, or so we thought! Everest Untold will transform your understanding of what happened in the Himalayas sixty years ago, with Theatre Review describing it as “The untold story all New Zealander’s should know”.

Stephen Lovatt plays Sir John Hunt and Edwin Wright plays George Lowe.

A Ffynroc Production. Touring to support the Himalayan Trust.
