'Beyond the End of the World' is the final book of The Caretaker Series, which are fast-paced adventure / fantasy books for ages 8-12. Books one and two of the trilogy were launched in 2015 (see photos).

Come along for nibbles and drinks, a giant colouring page, and of course a chance to meet the author (Zee) and illustrator (Jane). There'll also be 10% off storewide during the event.

Zee has published story books, colouring books, zines, and an anthology of stories by NZ children. This is her sixth publication. For more about Zee and her books, published under ZR Southcombe.

NB: Ponsonby Road will be closed during the afternoon. You can still easily access parking via Jervois Road or College Hill (see pictures attached for further information).

What readers think about The Caretaker Series:

"I love this series because Z. R. Southcombe never talks down to her target readers, which are children. She shows them that actions, intentional or not, have consequences that need to be dealt with. She also shows them that imagination is, indeed, a powerful attribute to have, and that it can accomplish much more good than bad.

The author's voice flows beautifully off the pages. This is a book that begs to be read aloud. I can't wait for the next book!" - Paul Magnan, author (Book 2)

"I love books my son and I can enjoy. It is written for pre-teens, but it can be enjoyed by teens and adults alike...The story is engaging and intriguing. It will show you that no matter our age we can all go back to our childhood by using our imagination." - Desafio in the City (Book 1)

"This story is quite entertaining and the pace kept me reading until I was finished in one sitting. I particularly like the ease of reading in this story, perfect for kids, but with a depth to the story if a reader wishes to examine key issues.

"I highly recommend this book to all children of appropriate age (I believe age 7 and up is the range). This is the type of book that can inspire a young reader to read more books as is fires up the imagination and has easy to understand imagery." - Stephen Moran, author (Book 2)

"This book is a package prepared by wizards, dragons, pirates, bakers, forest creatures and Theo (the cat) filled with lots of fun for the little ones to savor... one of the best children's book I've ever read." - Book Review Temple (Book 1)
