Built in 1895, this stunning Historic homestead is opening for viewing on Sunday afternoons in May.

Weather permitting do pack yourself a picnic and enjoy your afternoon tea in the gardens. A lovely idea for Mother Day on the 8th May! We encourage families to bring their children to see just how houses were often built 120 years ago.

The CoachHouse Archive display holds some fascinating local history . Read about the pioneering families who used to reside here and the interesting life the property has lead. Available for viewing are the five watercolour paintings by Lydia Larden (Ethel Lydia Larden Birch) in 1884, (Donated by the great niece of Maud Caccia Birch (nee Keiller) local resident Patricia Keiller.

Stunning autumn colours abound and you can follow the printed guide and track down our notable and protected trees - hard to miss, they are huge! Views of the Hokowhitu Lagoon with its abundant birdlife and through to the ranges will have you appreciating our lovely region even more!

Come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon listening to the Tuis and wood pigeons!
