Artist Ash Keating is back in Christchurch to create a new artwork for the public to enjoy…giving himself the timeframe of only a few hours to make the piece.

On Saturday he is heading to Manchester Street to create a new work replacing his “Concrete Propositions” from November 2012. The public is welcome to watch the artist at work, ask questions and even partake in the process. It’s about connecting contemporary art with the people, outside of a gallery or traditional exhibition.

The free event will take place on the east wall of Cathedral Junction at the junction of Worcester and Manchester Streets (117-119 Worcester St), from 8.30am with support from Resene, Kennard’s Hire, Wormald, SignTech and Terra Vive Motel.

Keating is a Melbourne born and based contemporary visual artist, who has been working professionally since 2004. His practice ranges from site-specific, conceptual, collaborative, mixed media installations, public and gallery based projects created both throughout Australia, and also internationally in residencies and exhibitions in Chile, Korea, Indonesia, Japan and New Zealand.
