The Human Resources Institute of NZ (HRINZ) Hutt Valley Branch and Healthy Families Lower Hutt have joined forces to create a Workplace Wellbeing Special Interest Group (SIG) and this was launched on the 14th of April. Details of the first SIG event are below - we hope you can join us.

A workshop with Alison Ogier-Price MSc (Psych), BComm, BA (Hons), CAT, MNZAPP, Working Well National Programme Manager at the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand
Come along and learn how to create a workplace culture and environment that promotes mental wellbeing including:
- A whole system approach to mental health including some practical stuff
- How mental health is good for business - and the different things you can measure - for those who are looking at baseline
- What is and isn't mental health including what optimal mental health at work looks like and what poor mental health at work looks like

There will be opportunities to discuss ideas in groups and to look at some practical examples from workplaces in NZ. You will leave the workshop with networks, knowledge and access to useful resources.

About the Presenter:
Alison specialises in the application of the science of positive psychology to organisational wellbeing, human resource development, and professional and personal development. She has extensive experience over more than 15 years as a global project manager and business analyst in supporting the management, design, development and implementation of business solutions. Over the last decade, Alison has provided mental health education and support in the form of consultancy, training and coaching services within sectors of business, government (MSD, MoE), NGO, health (DHBs and private), and public mental health, for local and global organisations. Alison is frequently engaged to speak on applied positive psychology and wellbeing at national business, counselling, and psychology conferences, provides input for media requests, is active in research and supervision, and is vice-president and editor for the New Zealand Association of Positive Psychology. Alison's interests are in the application of scientific principles of positive mental health to organisations, groups and individuals, through targeted and evidence-based training programmes and seminars. She gives particular attention to supporting positive organisational outcomes, culture and climate, high performing teams, and optimising human functioning and experience.
