An invitation to step into the rich, metaphorical world of Butoh, the art of improvisation. It is dangerous and to succeed, one must first reach the very depths of the human spirit, and then, express it.

An Evening of Dangerous Improvisations presents to new works:

Dancing Hamlet in the World of Frogs ask the audience to be the creators of the dance by selecting word-images for the dancers to interpret. Performers are Pipi-Ayesha Evans, William Franco, Darrell Haddon and Miki Seifert.

Dangerous Improvisations is an extemporaneous exploration of the body and spirit by Butoh performer Miki Seifert and operatic singer Emma Kaloay. This is a first time collaboration, mixing Butoh and opera.

The night will conclude with a discussion on Butoh.
