Want to quickly gain the confidence (and skills) to stand up and speak in front of a group?
This course will give you confidence and skills in all areas of public speaking: speaking off the cuff, giving prepared speeches, improving listening skills, evaluating others, conducting meetings and handling nervousness.
The registration deadline is 12 May. Limited spaces available!
What is Speechcraft?
Speechcraft is a program where you will explore all aspects of oral communication. Research shows that success in your occupation is directly related to how well you can communicate. People who can express themselves effectively advance further and faster in their career and business than those who have difficulty expressing themselves. If you can’t speak with confidence, you may be keeping yourself from achieving your career and business goals!
What’s in it for you?
The benefits of Speechcraft are numerous! You will gain confidence and build self esteem by confronting your nervousness. You will learn to speak without preparation which is excellent practice for meeting real life situations. Interact with clients with confidence and enhance your promotability within your company. Discover your hidden talents and learn to use them.
How does the program work?
You will have the opportunity to make presentations in front of a group, conduct a meeting, analyze other speaker’s presentations, participate in impromptu speaking exercises, sharpen listening skills, and more. This is not a lecture course, but a participatory program presented in a non-threatening workshop atmosphere.
How much time will I need for preparation outside of class?
You will present three prepared speeches varying in length from 2 4 minutes and will participate in one other major role at a meeting. Some weeks there will be no preparation time for the meeting. Average preparation time for a prepared speech is two to three hours.
