JET Programme NZ

Applications for the 2017 JET Programme will open in October 2016.
The deadline for submissions will be 5pm, Monday 28 November 2016.

Rather than introducing the Programme (as previous presentations across the country have done) this will be a chance to talk specifically through the application procedure and answer any questions you may have about the application so you can submit everything correctly to the Embassy of Japan by the deadline.

Are you: A New Zealand citizen with a degree (or will have your degree conferred by the departure in July 2017)? Interested in young people and keen to teach English in Japan? Interested in international activities?

NB: Travel and visa all looked after for you!

Positions Available:
Assistant Language Teacher (ALT):
ALTs help the Japanese foreign language teachers in class and assist in preparing teaching materials and class activities. They may assist in English language clubs and other extra-curricular activities. Knowledge of Japanese is not required to be an ALT.

Coordinator for International Relations (CIR):
CIRs work in local government offices and are involved in international activities which might include editing publications, translation work, advising on the planning and implementation of exchange programmes, and interpreting at international events. A functional knowledge of written and spoken Japanese is needed to be a CIR.

To find out more, check out our website! Come along to an Information Session around the country in late September / early October and then come along to this session after applications open to answer any questions you may have.
