The 2016 National Sport Stacking Championships are being held in Wellington this July. This is a chance for everyone to set regional, national and international records! Teachers - tournaments are a great opportunity to extend your students' learning, beyond the classroom. Individuals and groups, new and experienced are all welcome. The tournament will include a Novice section (as well as an Experienced section) for all those new to the sport and those who have not attended a sport stacking tournament for a number of years. Stackers wishing to be considered for selection into the 2017 NZ Black Stacks team will need to be competing at this event.

Competitors will be competing for the title of the 2016 NZ National Sport Stacking Championships Overall Champion. The age of competitors ranges from 3-60+. Also competing will be the 2016 NZ Black Stacks team members who travelled to Germany in April this year to compete in the World Sport Stacking Championships. They had a very successful tournament and returned with 23 medals.

Sport stacking is an exciting individual and team sport where participants stack and unstack 12 specially designed plastic cups in a pre-determined sequence. Great for focus, concentration and left right brain activity.

Sport stacking with speed stacks has featured on TV One's Breakfast Show with Paul & Pippa, Pukana, Dare to Win, Hyundai Code and TV3's Campbell Live with footage from Whakarongo School as well as at the launch of the 2011 Super 15 NZ Rugby, the Erin Simpson Show, Breakfast, TV3 News and the 4:30 Show.

Spectators may join the sport stackers, instructors and volunteers from 9am.
