Learn tips and tricks to taking food photos irresistible to the eye!

During this 2-hour mouth-watering workshop, photographers Amber Khoo or Ariki Tane will introduce students of all levels to lighting, creative angles and food shooting styles. While Zomato Country Manager, Kirsty Cardy will highlight simple food prep, and prop styling techniques.

Suitable for beginners, from Iphonographers to those starting on DSLRs.

Food photography teachers:

Amber is a 22-year-old who worked as a freelance food photographer with the New Straits Times, a national Malaysian newspaper, for 6 years. Her work is published on a weekly basis. Apart from this, she loves conceptual photography and portraiture. She is known for her quiet, unobtrusive and efficient working style with occasional outbursts of crazy creativity. Ariki is a 23 year old artist who’s main passion is Portrait & Fashion Photography. Born and raised in a small South Island town, Ariki recently relocated to Auckland to pursue his passion. From working with those within the fashion industry to photographing at Air New Zealand Fashion Week; He understands the competitive nature of the photography industry and the lengths to go to get that ‘perfect’ shot.

Food styling teacher:

Kirsty Cardy leads the team at Zomato NZ, overseeing all operations and expansion at a national level. Prior to joining Zomato, Kirsty was a finalist on MasterChef New Zealand, ran her own successful catering company and managed a restaurant supply business throughout New Zealand.

Please bring along the camera that you usually use when taking food photos.
