Elmwood Players are pleased to announce a writing workshops for new writers and people interested in pursuing this creative outlet. The workshop will be facilitated Allison Horsley (Literary Manager at Court Theatre).
The Workshop will involve:

- Discuss basics and not-so-basics of storytelling onstage

- Discover some basic ways to build a play from an idea

- Learn tools for getting through writer's block

- Meet other local playwrights and begin a conversation about your own writing with a like-minded community

- Gain an opportunity to have your own writing analysed by peers and analyse others' work

Allison Horsley is the new Literary Manager for The Court Theatre. As a dramaturg and/or literary manager she has worked on new plays and musicals for American regional theatres such as Denver Center Theatre Company, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, La Jolla Playhouse, Centerstage, Yale Repertory Theatre, and Dallas Theater Center, as well as in new musical development for the O'Neill Music Theatre Conference. Her Broadway credits include the musicals Jersey Boys, Doctor Zhivago, and Dracula, as well as development contributions to Chaplin and Amazing Grace. For nine years she taught playwriting at University of Denver, where she is on faculty. Under commission from Oregon Shakespeare Festival, she has translated all of Chekhov's major plays for adaptation by OSF Artistic Director Emerita Libby Appel. She holds a bachelor's in Russian and Theatre from University of Denver and a master of fine arts in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism from the Yale School of Drama.
