This exhibition features the Kate Sheppard sculpture designed for Women's Refuge to highlight unacceptable levels of domestic violence in NZ. Kate stand over 2m tall and is 351 layers of glass-edged acrylic. From 8th March until 12th April she will be shown with information curated by Lyttelton Museum about women's suffrage and the 1993 centennial celebrations. From April 16th the sculpture will be shown alongside 5 portraits of influential harbour basin women from Kate Sheppard's day until the present. These portraits have been painted by Christchurch-based artist Julia Holden.

The exhibition will be open from International Women's Day 8th March until Mother's Day 10th May 2015. Tin Palace is open Thurs and Fri 12-4pm and weekends 10am-4pm.
