Queenstown Events Centre, Joe O'Connell Drive, Frankton, Queenstown

Queenstown’s premier charity boxing event is back for 2015 and will this year be staged on September 19th at the Queenstown Events Centre!

What better way to celebrate the arrival of Spring than by showing your support for our brave local contenders and two fantastic local charities.

Now in its 6th year and always a sell-out, the Thriller in the Chiller is not only regarded as a “must do” event on Queenstown’s annual social calendar but is also heralded as one of the top charity boxing events in New Zealand.

This year will once again see bow ties and ball gowns collide with blood, sweat and boxing as well known Queenstowners take to the ring for one spectacular night of glitz, glamour and good old-fashioned pugilistic glory.

From rugby players and real estate agents to mums and musicians, we’ve had Queenstowners from all walks of life take part in the Thriller. We’ve had some cracking face-offs between tourism heavy weights such as Shotover Jet, NZSKI, AJ Hackett, NZone, Magic Memories and Skycity Queenstown Casino. We’ve had Bar versus Bar, Bouncer versus Bouncer and Radio versus Newspaper. We’ve had a battle of the beauty therapists and the ultimate battle of the basin between Wakatipu and Arrowtown Rugby.

This year has seen our largest contingent of Contenders ever with 81 applicants for the first selection bootcamp. 70 are now in training 4 mornings a week in the bid to be chosen to fight on September 19th. To get an insider's view, like us on facebook and see our "shots of the day" from training and stay up to date with everything that is happening in the land of Thriller.

In a first for 2015 we have adopted two deserving local charities (Bruce Grant Youth Trust and Branches Charitable Trust) and just by purchasing a table you will make a contribution to their cause. Look out online with how you can support our contenders who will be raising even more money and stay tuned for the announcement of our fantastic auction items that will go under the hammer on the night.
