Roaring 20s! Jazz! Art Deco! The stock market crash!

Ladies and Gentleman it’s time to dust off your corsets and bowler hats, as “The Swing Revival” presents the party premiere to take you back to “Les Années Folles” the 1920s,
It’s happening in the fine Victorian architectural gem : The Empire recently overtaken by “Le Chef”.

The Swing Revival sound is an intoxicating mix of old and new, fusing traditional swing, New Orleans Jazz, Lindy Hop Charleston with vibrant electronic music. The genre boldly brings the sounds, spirit and fashion of the 1920s, 30s & 40s back to life with a modern dance party edge.

Expect live band, swing dancers, French DJs and visual.

During the first part of the evening you will be entertained by the Gypsy Jazz band “Twistin’ the Swing” followed by Klassix from Paris and DJ Belleville.

We’ll have the support of some special guests including Lindy hop dancers from swing out central school and a Slice of Pineapple Dancers (Pineapple Productions dance company).

Twistin’ the Swing

Twistin’ the Swing is an all-acoustic band, influenced mainly by Gypsy Jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. The band was formed by two young and talented musicians with a great passion for Gypsy Jazz and an irrepressible desire to share this passion. Highly energetic Etienne Bizjak (from Belgium) and, even-tempered Michael Kovalov (from Latvia) instantly hit it off when they met, which is seen as nothing short of a miracle considering their almost polar opposite personalities. Right from the start the duo made it their mission to modernize Gypsy Jazz, making it enjoyable for young and old…
