The Big Easy

Try our brand new cycle pathway and warm up for the Big Easy this Easter Friday!

Dust off the lyrca, or maybe just pull on your stubbies and head to Russell Park, Waipukurau this Easter Friday to start exploring Hawke’s Bays newest cycle trail for the official Big Easy Warm Up, Central Hawke’s Bay!

Throughout the afternoon you’ll find food, refreshments, fun stops along the way as well as entertainment at Russell Park, Waipukurau

The Big Easy Warm Up will take place on the brand spanking new Central Hawke’s Bay Rotary River Pathway, along the 12km return trail which begins on the northern side at the Tukituki Bridge, State Highway 2, and returns to Russell Park.

The Rotary River Pathways are great trails for the whole family to discover and this free event will kick off at 11am from Russell Park and run throughout the afternoon until 6pm, so those travelling North for Saturday’s ‘Big’ event can take in a leisurely ‘Warm Up’ as they make their way into Hawke’s Bay.

The event welcomes anyone wanting to dust off the pedals for a few fun kilometres of gorgeous Hawke’s Bay Tukituki Valley scenery, and is of course open to locals looking for a way to burn off some of that Easter sugar overload.

The event will focus on the northern pathway however cyclists are welcome to make the most of both Central Hawke’s Bay Rotary River Pathways and also check out the 5km return track on the southern side of the Tukituki Bridge to Mt Herbert Road, and back to Russell Park.

Keep an eye out for updates on the Big Easy website or the Central Hawke’s Bay Facebook Page.
