TEDxWellingtonWomen is a locally organised, not-for-profit event that will dedicate half a day to celebrating gender and diversity in our wonderful, windy city. Curated by an all female team, TEDxWellingtonWomen is a 100% volunteer project that invites both males and females to come along and listen to inspiring X chromosome-related ideas from both local and national change-makers. This is the only event of its kind in New Zealand.

Join us on Saturday 30th May at the City Gallery to hear from five speakers with diverse backgrounds, and experience three live performances from talented local dance and music groups. For a global perspective, we'll also be streaming a simulcast of the official TEDWomen conference, which will be held in Monterey, California from 27-29 May.

What should I expect?
The theme for TEDxWellingtonWomen 2015 is "Rhythm: Finding your groove. Building momentum. Inspiring change". Through our speakers, musical performances and interactive break out spaces, we'll be exploring the rhythm of ideas in a gender-balanced way. Topics for the talks include: redefining the concept of 'courage' from a female perspective, exploring a personal journey that has landed at an intersection between science and spirituality, and taking a behind the scenes look at a global art movement centred around peace. The day will also include lunch, afternoon tea and networking drinks.

What will I take away?
TEDx events offer an unparalleled opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, stretch your world views, diversify your perspective, kickstart personal and professional relationships and learn about powerful ideas that are taking shape in both our local and global communities. Attending TEDx events connect you with people and ideas that can change your life. This event is for passionate females and driven men who'd benefit from learning a little more from one another.

Tickets for the event go on sale May 1st. You don't want to miss this!

NB: Please note that the start and finish time for this event is subject to change and will be confirmed closer to the date.
