Hot on the heels of the unprecedented success of the Rise festival last summer, Oi you!, in partnership with the YMCA and Canterbury Museum, will present Spectrum, its latest street art extravaganza.

With 2 venues, 8 exhibitions, 10 big walls, 17 of the world’s best, 22 Banksy’s and 890 T-shirts, Spectrum will encapsulate every tint and tone of the world’s favourite art form and explore the myriad of ways that street artists get their work seen. It will spread across 2 venues, the YMCA on Hereford Street and Canterbury Museum, as well as the city’s streets – where another series of blank walls will be transformed into stunning works of art.

The journey starts at the YMCA with a street art journey from one end of the scale to the other; from massive spray cans to miniature masterpieces, from viral videos to stick-up selfies and from Banksy to The Bronx. Then it’s time to hit the city streets to hunt down the huge walls to be painted across the CBD.

Christchurch will again be treated to some of the best street art from around the world; leading international stars include Adnate, Buff Monster and Sofles who will have their talents on show alongside amazing New Zealand artists Flox and Owen Dippie from the North Island and Christchurch’s own Jacob Yikes and Dcypher, who is now based in Los Angeles.
