Not being able to sleep is a waking nightmare it seems that no matter what you do, sleep is something that is forever going to allude you.

Recent research has shown that sleep deprivation leads to accelerated ageing and according to the British Sleep Council, if you don’t sleep for at least six hours a night, you’re 12% more likely to die young. Lack of sleep can also trigger a range of health problems from heart disease, to diabetes, to obesity. It can ruin your concentration, your memory and your youthful good looks all in one fell swoop.

Back in 2012, TV3 discovered that there had been a 42% jump in the number of New Zealander’s using sleeping pills in the last 5-years. For some, using sleeping pills is the last ditch attempt to get a good nights sleep, and for them, is a good short-term solution. The problem is, sleeping pills are not appropriate for the medium or long-term.
