Day 1:-
Saturday, 24 October 2015
1pm: Official Opening of the Ross to Ruatapu section of the West Coast Wilderness Cycle Trail.
2pm: Ross Domain / Rugby Grounds -
- Gold Panning Competition
- Children’s Foot Races
- Tug-of-War
- Wood-Chopping Exhibition
-‘Stake-Your-Claim’ / Miner’s Licence
- Miner’s Trail Trivia Quiz
5pm: Gold-Panning Competition & Lucky Stake winners to be announced @ Domain.
9pm: Fireworks Display.
Day 2:-
Sunday, 25 October 2015
10:30am: Thanksgiving Celebration @ the historic St Patrick’s Church.
11.30am: Unveiling of the Totara Gold Rush 150th Commemorative Seat on the Miner’s Trail / Heritage Walkway.
12.00pm: On-going activities, late morning / early afternoon –
- Gold-Panning in Jones’ Creek (salted lode)
- Info. Centre Activities – photos, displays, exhibits
2pm: Period Costume Street Parade through Ross
3pm: Ross Domain / Rugby Grounds -
- Gold-Panning (both locations)
- Period Costume Competition
- Best Beard Competition
- Special Guest Appearances by the Impresario "Richard John Seddon", Reefton Bearded Miners & the Shantytown Can Can Dancers
- Displays by Westland Heritage & New Zealand Heritage Groups
- Old Ross Fire Engine Rides
- Pony Trap Rides
- Shire Horse Rides
5pm: Judge Best-Dressed Period Costume & Best Beard
8pm 'til Late: Cabaret @ the Ross Centennial Hall
