Mazzola Jewellery & Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of paintings by Noah Landau as part of Kokomai. Noah led a fascinating life as an artist, teacher and environmentalist.

Noah’s ancestors were Lithuanian Jews, his parents were part of an intimate circle of English artists, as was Noah himself who won the prestigious Open Prize at The Slade, studied print making with S W Hayter and acted as technical assistant to sculptor Kenneth Armitage. He was a visual effects designer for the BBC including Dr Who and Quatermas, lecturer at Bristol University School of Art, and Oxford & Cambridge art and architecture examiner.

Noah was also a lute maker, traditional boat builder, worked on a kibbutz in Israel and served on Greenpeace’s Rainbow Warrior. Noah eventually arrived in New Zealand where he taught art and painted in Northland, Wairarapa and South Taranaki. This exhibition is a rare opportunity to view and purchase paintings from his estate.

Mazzola Jewellery & Gallery is located at the north entrance to Featherston at 167 Fitzherbert Street. The gallery is open 12noon to 6pm Saturdays and Sundays. The exhibition runs Saturday 16 October 2015 to 28 February 2016.
