Auckland Jazz and Blues Club Present
Ray Woolf and Suzanne Lynch
with the Queen City Big Band

The Queen City Big Band is now well into it’s 35th year and continues to excel in performance and presentation. They are a popular choice for our Club nights as they present a broad spectrum of music. This band presents great opportunity for young and up and coming players and vocalists to show themselves off.As always a combination of youthful, enthusiastic up and coming talent and mature experienced players brings excitement and energy to the audience.
They will be accompanying Ray Woolf and Suzanne Lynch.

Ray Woolf needs no introduction to club members who attended last year’s Christmas club gig. He would have to be one of New Zealand's best-known entertainers. Singer, recording artist, television star, actor and master of ceremonies, Ray is the complete entertainer. He has been awarded the prestigious "Benny" award from the Variety Artists Club (VAC) for his services to entertainment in the fields of Music, Musical Theatre, Acting and Film (October 2007) and in 2008 Ray was also honoured with a MNZM in the Queen's Birthday honours list.

We also welcome Suzanne Lynch to perform at our club. She has an amazing bio!
Suzanne was discovered along with her sister Judy by NZ guitarist Peter Posa, and the two sisters became regular performers on the NZ TV show ‘C’mon’ in the late 60’s and in 1971 as a soloist Suzanne was also a regular on the TV show ‘Happen In’. Having established a name in NZ as the blonde member of the popular 60's duo "The Chicks" and then as a solo performer Suzanne studied vocal technique for 3 years with Hubert Milverton Carta, before travelling to England in Jan 1973 where she quickly became one of London’s first call session singers singing on Albums by Chris De Burgh, Art Garfunkel, ShaWaddyWaddy, Cleo Lane, The Walker Brothers to name just a few. She joined the Cat Stevens band in 1974 and performed with him on two world tours and on all his recordings. Suzanne has toured with Neil Sedaka, recording a live album with him at The Royal Festival Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. She has also toured with Charles Aznavour throughout England and Europe. She has performed on many English TV shows, including a Lulu Special, a series with Leo Sayer, and was a regular singer on the English TV series, “Get it Together”. Back in New Zealand in 2004 – 2007 Suzanne was the vocal coach for 3 seasons of NZ Idol, and 2008 – 2009 vocal coach for Stars In Their Eyes, and has been the vocal and performance coach for New Zealand’s Got Talent, for the last two years. Currently Suzanne teaches contemporary vocal technique and stage performance, and is still busy performing as a soloist, and as a member of the well known vocal group” The Lady-killers”, with Tina Cross, Jackie Clarke and their special guest Annie Crummer.

There is a charge for this magnificent lineup!
