People Building Better Cities is an exhibition by Global Studio and the Center for Sustainable Urban Development, Columbia University. It has travelled to 10 countries to exchange knowledge and promote dialogue on the challenges of inclusive urbanization and climate change.

Building on the work of Global Studio, an international educational program, this exhibition documents community-driven projects that share a common goal: the promotion of inclusive urbanization to improve the lives of the urban poor through innovations in participatory design and planning.

The Christchurch exhibition is presented by Te Pūtahi - Christchurch centre for architecture and city-making, with the support of the Christchurch City Council Transitional City Projects Fund, The Warren Trust, New Zealand Institute of Architects, and Life in Vacant Spaces.

Details, including five weeks of associated events, can be found on the People Building Better Cities website.

Te Pūtahi has evolved from Christchurch's FESTA - Festival of Transitional Architecture - and is governed by a registered charity, the Christchurch Transitional Architecture Trust.
