NZTRIO presents
ART3 : Blast
Performed by Justine Cormack, Ashley Brown and Sarah Watkins

Art3 sees NZTrio returning to City Gallery Wellington with two concerts on the 16th of September and 10th of November, each featuring a delightful French romantic work, a brand new offering from a local talent, and a twist from a Great. Audiences will once again be treated to to the combination of audio and visual, as the musicians respond to the breathtaking new Fiona Pardington exhibition now on at the gallery.

On November 10, Art3: Blast opens with the fragrant offering of Gabriel Faure’s Piano Trio in d minor, Opus 120. The trio follow with their third new commission for the year, this time by wellington local Ken Young, another of New Zealand's leading composers. This new work promises to be extraordinary! To round off, audiences will be treated to something unexpected from the great Ludwig van Beethoven. His Symphony No. 2, arranged for piano trio by the great master himself, will be a chance to experience this masterwork in a fresh new way - more intimate yet totally dynamic in the hands of NZTrio. Not to be missed!

2015 has been another jam packed year for NZTrio, kicking off with performances at Auckland Arts Festival’s cultural extravaganza White Night, before heading South to Wanaka’s Festival of Colour and the Nelson Arts Festival. August saw NZTrio travelling to Australia to perform in the 18 day Darwin Festival. Having played alongside theatre groups, historical film footage and international folk and jazz musicians, NZTrio are no strangers to collaboration and their Art3 Series is a mix of music and art like no other.
