Beloved foodie, Allyson Gofton, serves up a slice of truly authentic French village life in more ways than one.

Join Allyson at Kitchen Things Hamilton as she cooks a couple of dishes from her latest book and recounts a few of the adventures she and her family had during their year living in France.

If you’ve ever dreamt about living in France for an extended period or simply have an enduring love affair with the French, then beloved foodie Allyson Gofton’s latest cookbook is one for you. It is simply a joy to read and to cook from.

Part cookbook, part travel memoir Recipes from My French Kitchen transports us to the heart of all things French as Allyson chronicles, month by month, her family’s year of living in Caixon, a tiny village of just 350 permanent residents. Caixon lies at the foot of the Pyrénées — the majestic mountain range that creates a natural border between France and Spain.

Allyson Gofton has been cooking for New Zealanders for nearly 30 years. She is known for her recipes and columns in magazines, television appearances, radio slots and many personal appearances in the name of charity. She has also written more than 20 cookbooks, including her bestselling series of books Bake, Cook and Slow, as well as the popular Country Calendar Cookbook with Allyson Gofton and her latest bestseller Good Food Made Simple.

Grab a friend and come along for a fun lunchtime. Tickets $49 and include a double pass plus one copy of Allyson's book per double pass. Additional books on sale on the day.
